ARTIST COMMENT:  From birth we are inundated with the stories of the achievements and events of western civilization, the presumed history of great men and great events.  The development and dropping of the atomic bomb gives us pause to reconsider what this civilization has / had done to billions of people who were written out of history.  Instead of the truth, the arts and culture is heralded as if it is self-evident justification for the past inhumanity.  [PHOTO –BASE: Robert Capa; NAT.
